2019: 7th Annual San Antonio Book Festival

On April 6, 2019, an estimated 18,000 readers and nearly 100 authors from all over the country came together at the downtown Central Library and Southwest School of Art to celebrate ideas, books, libraries, and literary culture. This free day of edu-tainment offered stimulating activites and inspiring conversations for all ages and showcased our city as a literary destination.

2015 San Antonio Book Festival

The 3rd annual San Antonio Book Festival took place on April 11, 2015 at the Central Library and the Southwest School of Art in San Antonio, Texas. This all-day, free event offered book lovers of all ages and interests a chance to get up close to their favorite authors at engaging readings, panel discussions, sales and signings. The lineup of nearly 90 authors showcased acclaimed national and regional writers who reflect the best books that American publishers are currently offering, while local talent added a unique sense of place and reflects South Texas’ rich cultural heritage.

My Story at the 2015 SABF

At the 2015 Book Festival, 15 students from Young Women’s Leadership Academy received training from My Story and interviewed Festival authors. They read the authors’ works, came up with their own questions, and engaged the authors in meaningful conversation. The experience, one student said, “absolutely opened my eyes.” This video tells their story.

2014 San Antonio Book Festival

On April 5, 2014, more than 10,000 people came together at San Antonio’s Central Library to celebrate their love of all literature. The second annual Festival featured more than 85 authors, cooking demonstrations, live music, children’s activities, food vendors, and a Literary Death Match.
