Sydney Ladensohn Stern

Sydney Ladensohn Stern, a proud graduate of Alamo Heights High School, worked as a reporter for Fortune and Money magazines and an editor and columnist at the Scarsdale Inquirer before freelancing for a number of publications including the New York Times. Her first book, Toyland: The High-Stakes Game of the Toy Industry was a Featured Alternate for Book of the Month and Fortune Book clubs. Her first biography was Gloria Steinem: Her Passions, Politics, and Mystique. Her latest book is The Brothers Mankiewicz: Hope, Heartbreak, and Hollywood Classics. For Turner Classic Movie’s Mankiewicz Family Weekend (March 27-29), Sydney, Ben Mankiewicz and Alex Mankiewicz (Joe’s daughter) will be talking about The Brothers Mankiewicz and introducing three nights of prime-time Mankiewicz films. She lives in New York City where she is involved with several professional biographers’ organizations.
