Dear 2020 San Antonio Book Festival Writers,
We’re looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday, April 4! We’ve got a great lineup planned (and we’re producing a few fun parties for you and our moderators as well). The lineup for this year’s Festival will be released to the public on Thursday, February 6, so anytime that day, please encourage your readers and friends to attend the Festival (which is free and open to the public):

Some suggested language: “Join me at (tag: SA Book Festival) on April 4! See the full lineup and learn about the 8th annual #sabookfest here: https://bit.ly/37Dtcok” or “Mark your calendars! I’ll be at (tag: SA Book Festival) on April 4. Join me for a day of books, ideas, family activities, and signings in beautiful downtown San Antonio.”
Everything during the Festival weekend will take place in downtown San Antonio, mostly at the beautiful Central Library (600 Soledad) and charming Southwest School of Art, which was originally established on the San Antonio River as a convent in 1851. You’re receiving this email because when you or your publicist filled out the Festival’s confirmation form, you indicated that you wanted to receive emails from us about the various details of the Festival. If you want us to communicate with someone else, please let us know. If you are a publicist who filled out your writer’s confirmation form and are handling all of your writer’s details, please make sure your writer has all the information they need before they arrive in San Antonio.
You’re going to receive emails from various members of the Festival staff with all of the details about your session, your booksigning details (sales at the Festival are handled by Barnes & Noble), and all the directions you’ll need. Before the Festival, you will also receive an email connecting you with your moderator or introducer.
We’ve organized several special parties exclusively for our Festival authors and moderators. You will be receiving invitations via Paperless Post over the next few weeks to attend the following events. Please be sure to RSVP when you receive your invitation; plus ones are welcome for the following events:
- Friday, April 3, 6:30-10:30pm: We won’t announce this publicly until Feb. 6th, so please don’t spill the beans before then, but the Festival is bringing Lit Crawl to San Antonio for the first time this year. Lit Crawl is a big, free block party for writers and readers that takes place in the Blue Star arts complex in San Antonio. Literary Death Match and a variety of other provocative events will be happening. We hope you and a guest will attend Lit Crawl and hang out at the Festival’s VIP lounge at Lit Crawl.
- Saturday, April 4, 8-9:30am: SABF Author Breakfast, Club Giraud (707 N. St. Marys St.) on the Festival grounds. The breakfast buffet is tasty!
- Saturday, April 4, 5:30-7pm: The Festival’s closing party, sponsored by Esquire Tavern, in the Coates Chapel inside the Southwest School of Art. At the end of the Festival, relax at a private author party, with specialty South Texas cocktails, appetizers, and music.
Look for more details soon and congratulations on creating some wonderful books. We’re excited to see you all in April!
