About the Event

Cas Torres is an excellent planner, perfectionist, and wants to give everyone their happily-ever-after in The Quince Project. In Futbolista, Gabriel Piña is a college goalkeeper, a future professional Liga MX or MLS star, and …  maybe bisexual. Both of these romantic, coming-of-age books by young adult author Jessica Parra and new adult author Jonny Garza Villa ask: What does it mean to embrace imperfections? Who are we allowed to be? And who can we become?

Jessica Parra

Jessica Parra is a Los Angeles native who loves to write about Latinas with big hair (and chasing even bigger dreams), complicated families, and the healing magic of acceptance. She is a lawyer, the author of Rubi Ramos’s Recipe for Success, and a daughter of Guatemalan and Cuban bakers. When she isn’t drafting books you can find her sipping kombucha, cuddling with her kitties, or co-piloting the Millennium Falcon at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge. Her new novel is The Quince Project.
