Ed Conroy is the author of Report on Communion, (Morrow, 1989; Avon, 1990) and edited “Combating Cult Mind Control” by Steven Hasson, Ph.D., (Park Street Press/Inner Traditions International, 1987). For the past 15 years he has reviewed books and profiled author for the San Antonio Express-News and has written, in Spanish, for Mas Alla de la Ciencia of Barcelona. A fourth generation, bicultural San Antonian with a profound love of the Spanish language and the history, literature, art and deep cultures of Mexico, he serves as Special Assistant for Development Initiatives for UTSA. After an earlier career in the 1980s and early 1990s as an arts writer and urban affairs columnist for the San Antonio Express News and the San Antonio Light, he served as development director for several local non-profit arts organizations before serving, for 24 years, as development director for Southwest School of Art. His education encompasses studies in the School of Critical Studies at California Institute of the Arts, UTSA, and the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He is the proud father of Brigid Irene Conroy, MTS, Harvard Divinity School.
