¡Ay Tú! : Critical Essays on the Life and Work of Sandra Cisneros is a comprehensive volume on the life, work, and impact of renowned Chicana author Sandra Cisneros. Join editors Geneva M. Gano and Sonia Saldívar-Hull, along with contributors Sara A. Ramírez and Richard T. Rodríguez as they talk about this riveting collection.

The session will feature special opening remarks by Sandra Cisneros.

Geneva M. Gano

Geneva M. Gano is a professor of English at Texas State University and the author of The Little Art Colony and US Modernism. She is the co-editor of the anthology ¡Ay Tú!: Critical Essays on the Life and Work of Sandra Cisneros.

Sara A. Ramírez

Dr. Sara A. Ramírez is an Assistant Professor of English at Texas State University, specializing in Chicana/x feminist literature, cultural productions, and spirituality. Her other areas of research include Anzaldúan philosophy, decolonial feminist thought, and trauma studies. Dr. Ramirez has published in American Studies, Hispanic Issues On Line, and Diálogo. She also serves as president on the Board of Directors for Infrarrealista Review and Third Woman Press. She is a contributor to ¡Ay Tú! : Critical Essays on the Life and Work of Sandra Cisneros

Richard T. Rodríguez

Richard T. Rodríguez is Professor of English at the University of California, Riverside. Beginning fall 2025, he will join the faculty at the University of California, Los Angeles as Professor of Chicana/o and Central American Studies. He is the author of Next of Kin: The Family in Chicano/a Cultural Politics and A Kiss across the Ocean: Transatlantic Intimacies of British Post-Punk and US Latinidad, both published by Duke University Press. He is currently finishing a collection of poems about his time living in Chicago. He is a contributor to ¡Ay Tú! : Critical Essays on the Life and Work of Sandra Cisneros

Sonia Saldívar-Hull

Dr. Sonia Saldívar-Hull is Professor Emerita at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She was the Brackenridge Endowed Chair in Literature and the Humanities, the Founding Director of the Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program, and Founding Director of the Women’s Studies Institute. Her publications include Feminism on the Border: Chicana Politics and Literature, co-editor of El Mundo Zurdo, Volumes 2-7, and co-editor of the Latin America Otherwise series. She is the co-editor of the anthology ¡Ay Tú!: Critical Essays on the Life and Work of Sandra Cisneros.
