Stephen Harrigan is the author of the award-winning novels The Gates of the Alamo andRemember Ben Clayton, among many other books. He is a longtime contributor to Texas Monthly and is also a screenwriter who has written many movies for television, includingBeyond the Prairie II: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder Continues. His latest book, A Friend of Mr. Lincoln, portrays Abraham Lincoln during his Springfield years, when he risked both his sanity and his ethical bearings as he searched for the great destiny he believed to be his. He lives in Austin, TX.
Thomas Mallon is the author of nine novels, including Henry and Clara, Dewey Defeats Truman, Fellow Travelers, and Watergate. He is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker, The New York Times Book Review, and The Atlantic, and in 2011 he received the American Academy of Arts and Letters’ Harold D. Vursell Memorial Award for prose style. He has been the literary editor of GQ and the deputy chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities. His new work, Finale: A Novel of the Reagan Years, captures life in the tumultuous administration of the most consequential and enigmatic president of modern times. He lives in Washington, D.C.
Dan Goodgame, vice-president of executive communications at Rackspace, describes himself as a recovering journalist. A Pulitzer Prize finalist and best-selling author, Goodgame has interviewed and profiled leaders in every field, including six U.S. presidents, Yasser Arafat, Bob Gates, Saddam Hussein, Colin Powell, Anwar Sadat, Hillary Clinton, Glenn Close, Michael Douglas, Steve Jobs, Rupert Murdoch, and Tiger Woods. Before joining Rackspace, Goodgame served as editor in chief of Fortune Small Businessmagazine. He previously worked for TIME as White House correspondent, and then as Washington bureau chief. As a correspondent for the Miami Herald in the Middle East and Europe, he covered the Israel-Lebanon, Iran-Iraq and Falklands wars.
