Get Lit Author Series

The Book Festival is one epic day of literary “edu-tainment” each year. The Get Lit Author Series helps SABF stay relevant throughout the year. Get Lit events feature an author in conversation with a respected figure in the San Antonio community. The Author Series furthers SABF’s mission of celebrating literary culture and offering literary programming to the general public. Since December 2022, SABF has partnered with Alamo Colleges to host Get Lit events. All Get Lit events are followed by a book sale and signing with help from Nowhere Bookshop. 

SABF’s inaugural Get Lit event was with novelist Paulette Jiles, author of News of the World, in December 2016. Other Get Lit events have featured authors Mark Bittman (How to Cook Everything Vegetarian), Julián Castro (An Unlikely Journey), Michele Norris (Our Hidden Conversations), Paola Ramos (Defectors), and Javier Zamora (Solito).
