The staff at the San Antonio Book Festival and Library Foundation are busy preparing for our 3rd Annual San Antonio Book Festival!
SABF’S 1ST FILM SCREENING: All About the Groove is a feature-length documentary about San Antonio native Doug Sahm, master of Tex-Mex roots-rock music. After the film’s presentation at the Festival—the first in San Antonio—there will be a Q&A with author, music journalist and the film’s director, Joe Nick Patoski.
SABF’S 1ST PITCHAPALOOZA: The brainchild of Arielle Eckstut and David Henry Sterry, cofounders of The Book Doctors, Pitchapalooza grants twenty writers the opportunity to pitch a book idea to a panel of judges. Contestants will have one minute to present their pitches, then will receive critique from the judges. “Everyone has an idea for a book, but Pitchapalooza lets those ideas compete, with the winner getting the chance to present his or her idea to literary agents,” says SABF Literary Director Clay Smith. “It’s a lot of fun for the audience and meaningful for the participants.”
