Alia Hanna Habib is a Vice President and literary agent at The Gernert Company, where she represents MacArthur Fellows, Pulitzer Prize–winning journalists, National Book Award Finalists, and numerous New York Times–bestselling authors. She lives in Brooklyn, New York. Her new book is Take It from Me: An Agent’s Guide to Building a Nonfiction Writing Career from Scratch.
Kelly Grey Carlisle is the author of the memoir We Are All Shipwrecks. Her essays have appeared in Salon, Ploughshares, New England Review, Terrain.org, and The Sun, among other places, and have been listed as notable essays four times in Best American Essays. She is an associate professor of English at Trinity University in San Antonio, where she is currently at work on a book about Durham Cathedral, an 11th century cathedral church in the Northeast of England.
