Join us in this celebration to open the 14th Annual San Antonio Book Festival! The Ceremony will include a performance by Eddie Vega, San Antonio Poet Laureate, and remarks from some of the amazing people who make SABF happen. Michael Quintanilla will emcee. 
 

About the Speakers

 

San Antonio’s Poet Laureate, Eddie Vega will perform at our Opening Ceremony! Eddie Vega is a poet, storyteller, spoken word artist, and educator. The author of Chicharra Chorus and Somos Nopales, his poetry appears in a permanent installation along the San Pedro Creek Cultural Park. He is also the editor of Asina is How We Talk, a collection of Tejano poetry written in “la lengua de la gente.” Vega directs the Mouth Dakota Poetry Project, a biweekly open mic in San Antonio; works as an English teacher at Holy Cross of San Antonio; and currently serves as the 7th Poet Laureate of San Antonio.
