Come listen to Arnie talk about his creations, authentic Mexican cooking, and the book’s stunning photography, which captures the beauty of South Texas.

Arnie Segovia

Arnie “ArnieTex” Segovia is a Texas-based pitmaster, content creator, and barbecue competitor. He’s known for his authentic Texas-Mexican recipes and his traditional blend of Southwest, Texas, and Norteño cooking techniques. Arnie is one of the most decorated cooks in the Texas competition barbecue circuit, having amassed more than 100 Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion wins in his 20-year career. He loves sharing his recipes and passion for cooking with his three million followers across his @arnietex social-media accounts. He and his wife have been married for over 40 years and reside in McAllen, Texas. His new cookbook is ArnieTex: Over 100 Recipes for Mexican-American Cooking and Texas-Style BBQ.

Ken Rodriguez

Ken Rodriguez is the Senior Feature writer at the San Antonio Report. He is a native of San Antonio and has worked in the newspaper/media business for 44 years. Ken is a former sports columnist and metro columnist with the San Antonio Express-News, a former sports writer and investigative reporter for the Miami Herald and a former contributor to Sports Illustrated. In 1999, Ken was part of a Miami Herald team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting.
