Like his characters, Matt Mendez grew up in central El Paso, Texas. He lives in Tucson, Arizona. He received an MFA from the University of Arizona and is the author of the short story collection Twitching Heart and young adult novels Barely Missing Everything and The Broke Hearts.
Sheryl Stoeck is the librarian at O’Connor High School in Northside ISD and the planning chair for LibraryPalooza, an annual Young Adult author festival for teens in San Antonio.
