Henry Cisneros

Henry Cisneros is a civic leader, businessman, author and philanthropist who served as mayor of San Antonio from 1981 to 1989. He was the first Latino mayor of one of America’s top 10 most populous cities and served as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Cabinet of President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1997. Throughout his career in politics and business, Cisneros has been a powerful presence in the nation’s urban progress. He has authored, edited, and collaborated on numerous articles and books, including The Texas Triangle: An Emerging Power in the Global Economy, published in 2021. His latest book is San Antonio: City on a Mission.
