Thrillers ask us to consider the darkness in others—and ourselves. Kelsey Cox pens a fresh take on a classic locked-room whodunit with Party of Liars. Everyone is invited into the lavish Texas Hill Country Sweet Sixteen birthday party—but not everyone will get out. Isha Raya debuts with the story of a cat-and-mouse battle in You’ll Never Forget Me. After accidentally killing her rival, a struggling actress is only just beginning to enjoy the Hollywood lifestyle… until a private investigator starts to dig into the case. When ambition and desire collide, only the most cunning will survive. These two thriller writers will talk about building tension and women of questionable morals in this pulse-pounding session.

Kelsey Cox

Kelsey Cox received her MFA in fiction from Purdue University and works from home in the Texas Hill Country. You can often find her writing at Mammen Family Public Library, chasing around her two young daughters, or watching British mysteries with her mom and aunts. On nights when bedtime goes as planned, she enjoys curling up on the sofa, a glass of wine in hand and a book with complicated characters and a killer twist in her lap. Party of Liars is her debut novel.

Isha Raya

Isha Raya is a fan of psychological thrillers featuring questionable morals, mastermind schemes, and brown women who get to be anything from superstars to supervillains. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in biology, and she currently resides in the depths of your mind. Her debut novel is You’ll Never Forget Me.

Hannah Gabel

Hannah Gabel is the Literary Director at Texas Book Festival, where she curates literary programming for year-round events and TBF’s annual fall festival, which welcomes 250 to 300 authors and more than 40,000 attendees each year. One of the largest literary events in the country, this year’s Texas Book Festival is scheduled for November 14th and 15th. Prior to joining TBF, Hannah built the successful book blog and social community Bookmarkparty, where she shared book recommendations and connected with authors, publishers, and readers around the world. A native Austinite, Hannah worked in corporate event planning for many years and launched a freelance graphic design and marketing agency, HLG Creative, before entering the literary world.
